If you’re like most of us, you already have a Facebook page (or two). Many of us are super big Twitter fans while others are becoming intrigued and learning about the cool microblogging platform that is Twitter.
I just signed up for Twitter recently and found it cumbersome to write a single post twice. After a few weeks of multiple postings I wondered if I could post to my Facebook and Twitter accounts at the same time. Guess what? You can and I’ll tell you how!
Facebook Posts = Twitter Posts
1- Open a browser window and log into your Facebook account.
2- Click on this link https://www.facebook.com/twitter/
3- Select either “Link my Profile to Twitter” or “Link a Page to Twitter”
What’s the difference?
Not much really, it’s just a way to simplify the process. If you only have one profile, well then, choose, “Link my Profile to Twitter.” If you have a profile and one or more pages, choose “Link a Page to Twitter” and select the profiles you want to automatically post to Twitter.
4- I chose “Link a Page to Twitter and my personal Facebook page and Amy Susan Design Page are both listed. Then select “Link to Twitter” by the account you want to link to Twitter.
5- If you’re not logged into Twitter, a window will appear asking you to log in and to authorize Facebook to use your account. Enter your username and password, select “Authorize app.”
If you’re already logged in, just select “Authorize app.”
Either way, you’ll get a confirmation that you’re now sharing your page updates on Twitter.
6- Edit the settings to select what you do or do not want to share on Twitter, such as Status Updates, Photos, Video Links, Notes and Events.
That’s all there is to it! Your Facebook account will automatically post to your Twitter account whenever you post using your selected Facebook profile.
write once, post twice
Now you can post to Facebook and Twitter at the same time!
