Getting Real
I’m a sucker for great reality shows like Top Chef, Face Off or Best Ink. Basically, any show which showcase people’s creativity in the most insane situations.
While watching the finale of one of my faves, Project Runway (season 14) with my darling girl, Tim Gunn said something that really resonated with me.
Setting the Scene: It’s the last mentoring session of the season and Candice is deliberating on whether she should include one of her pieces in her New York Fashion Week collection.
Candice: I was also thinking about scrapping things.
Tim: What were you thinking about scrapping?
Candice: Um, I love the print and I love the fact I went there.
Tim: This print?
Candice: Yeah.
Tim: I do too.
Candice: But it doesn’t go with the collection.
Tim: Well, sometimes it really is true: The things you love the most and invested so much in, need to leave because they hold you back. Click to Tweet
Tim’s words resonated with me and in that moment, I decided to scrap a project I worked on for a long time. I loved the idea and I loved the fact I went there, but no matter how much attention I gave it I just couldn’t, as Tim Gunn would say, “Make it work.”
Adios, Namaste Design Studio.
Namaste Design Studio was a website store geared toward yoga teachers (and others in the health care profession). The concept was simple. Pick a theme, supply me with props (i.e. content, information, images, etc.) and boom, just like that, the lucky yogini has an awesome website.

While Namaste Design Studio’s digital doors are closed, I offer the same “boom, just like that, you can have an awesome website” service to anyone who wants one quickly, with a ready-to-wear option right here at Amy Susan Design.
What’s holding you back?
Are you ready for a new or (re)designed website to move you forward? I’d love to hear what you’re working on!
